Broadcasts

At the request of the radio stations, the  Radio Section selects the day's most important news from daily VOA broadcasts and re-transmits this via phone (2430331).

Free News Services

The radio stations in Bolivia have access to free news services via telephone to VOASAT, Voice of America Satellite Information and Programming System.  This system can be reached by dialing the number 2432505 (La Paz).

The international news is processed at VOA's central studios every hour and distributed around the world by the Public Affairs Section.

Each news item is condensed to 4 minute intervals of international news  These four minutes are divided into two two-minute segments.  The first segement details two news items, the second segment gives general information on four news items.  Pauses between the segments make it easier to retransmit these news items by local stations.

VOASAT is available from Monday to Friday, all day.  Tramission schedules are as follows:

7:15; 8:15; 9:15; 10:15 y 11:15 Hrs.

12:15; 14:15; 15:15; 16:15 y 17:15 Hrs.

The Radio Seccion can send special anniversary messages by VOA broadcasters to local stations.   Intereseted stations can access an archive of musical programs (classic, country, jazz), etc.
